About True Bricks

The true cost of a home, before you buy it.

True Bricks pulls together everything a UK property actually costs to own — mortgage, stamp duty, council tax, insurance, running costs, repair risk and area factors — into a single, honest number you can compare against any other property.

    Why it exists

Property listings show you the asking price and an indicative monthly mortgage estimate. They don't show you the council tax band, the EPC running costs, the flood risk premium on your insurance, the listed-building constraints, or the planning history of the road. Buyers find out about most of this after they've made an offer, when it's expensive or awkward to change course.

True Bricks puts all of it on one screen, before any decision is made.

    Who built it

True Bricks is built by a solo founder, working on it nights and weekends. The project is in private beta while the data pipeline and scoring engine are hardened. Public launch is planned for 2026.

    How the data works

Every figure on True Bricks comes from a real, named source — Land Registry, Ofgem, the Environment Agency, Ofsted, Police.uk, EPC Open Data, and a small number of paid property intelligence providers for the bits that aren't freely available. We show you where each number comes from so you can verify it yourself.

Where we estimate, we say so. Where we model, we show the inputs. The TrueBricks Score is a transparent function of the underlying data — not a black box.
